Supplements

When you are suffering of an autoimmune disorder or a leaky gut, the first thing you should do is to fix your gut. I have researched a long time to find the best supplements from the best brands, which help to fix your intestinal lining and speed the process of healing up.

L-Glutamine

The most important supplement for healing your intestinal lining is L-Glutamine. It protects your cell walls and repairs them. Even side effects of chemotherapy treatments can be treated with it. My recommendation is to begin with 2-5 grams in the morning and in the evening. If it fits for you, it can be upped to a maximum of 40 gram per day, so 20 gram in the morning and 20 gram in the evening. I´m using the 100% Powder from NOW Foods, because it is high in quality and has a better price when you buy it as powder. If you are not comfortable with that, you can also purchase the 500mg capsules.

Probiotics

When you want to heal your gut successfully you will need probiotics from a high-quality brand like Garden of Life or Bio-Kult. The probiotics will help your body to get rid of the bad bacteria and rebuild the good ones. This one is also a very important supplement. My dosage recommendation is to start with 25 billion units per day, and up it to 100 billion within the following 3-4 weeks. Furthermore you can get some probiotics through fermented high-quality food like sauerkraut, fermented vegetables like carrot or beet, and through kombucha or water kefir.

Quercetin

You want to stabilize your mast cells and help to generate new tight junction proteins with this one. Quercetin is known for improving the gut barrier function, and also reduces the release of histamines in your body. My recommendation is 500 mg three times a day. Take it shortly before your meal.

Optional Supplements

Depending on your budget you can add the following supplements into your diet, but this is optional and you are already good with the three i mentioned before. However, if you want to have the best healing process for your gut, i can recommend the following supplements.

Caprylic Acid

This one is made from coconuts and known for his antifungal features. Especially for sufferers of Candida this is very helpful. And it is cheap anyway. This is the most important optional supplement i can recommend. Dosage should be 1-2 capsules in the morning and evening with your meal. I got mine from NOW Foods and can absolutely recommend it.

Betaine Hydrochloric Acid (HCL)

If you have problems with too low stomach acid, Betaine Hydrichloric Acid can be very helpful for the digestion process. Take it with every meal you are eating till you have no problems with low stomach acid anymore (which should be within 2-3 months). The recommended dosage is 650 mg when you´ve consumed 1/3 of your meal.
